Proud of you Sweetie. I just wish one of them would call or email me so that I could ask them what in particular was said to G'ma by Hubby that could even be considered 'apostate'????? Not one of them has contacted us and asked. But it does show how critical and judgemental they are.....and speaking with 49 years of this mind-control myself, I know how they think.

The cult mentality of JW's in action
by Gojira_101 inthis is a perfect example of how the cult mind-control fear, hate...etc works in the jw mind.. sorry this is going to be a long post.
these are emails from the 2 days worth of conversations, so it's going to be long.. this was a message i got from my cousins mom...this was the first email i got.. i was recently informed of your fathers recent visit to his mother and the volatile conversation he had with her and the apostate things he said about jehovah's organization.
i did not talk to your grandmother and hear from her personally but through and reliable friend whom i trust explicitly that talked with her.

Dear Amazing, Did your CO incident happen at a DC in Phoenix, AZ? My husband & I are remembering a similar incident that happened in Phx. We're thinking the 80's sometime.
Either that or the jackass CO did it in Phx also.
He even rapped on the microphone and made such a loud obnoxious sound that you just wanted to go beat the crap out of him.

WTS vs. Star Trek
by Farkel instar trek claimed to be fantasy and in fact, was fantasy.. wts claims to be the sole truth on earth and in fact, is fantasy.. star trek had spock who solved problems with logic.. wts has a gb who solves problems with bullshit.. star trek had a pompous ass charismatic leader whom everyone loved to watch rant and emote.
wts had three pompous ass charismatic leaders whom everyone hated to watch rant and emote.. captain kirk was always saving his people from new disasters.. wt leaders are always leading its people into new disasters.. star trek made money by always giving its fans the stuff they wanted.. wts makes money by always charging its fans for stuff neither they nor anyone else else wants.. people had fun when star trek came on.. people would rather have a root canal when meetings come on.. star trek was all about making the cosmos a better place for all.. wts is all about making the cosmos a better place for a few and killing everyone else.. people love to go to star trek conventions.. people would rather be in an earthquake than go to wts conventions.. star trek had a transporter room.. people in meetings wish they also had a transporter room.. star trek had lots of insane villains.. wts had judge rutherford and fred franz.
same thing.. star trek also had lots of good guys.. good guys are banished from the wts.. star trek had the klingons who spoke a bizarre language.. wts had fred franz who spoke an even more bizarre language.. star trek had all sorts of devices which could cure most any medical problems, but of course, they were science fiction.. wts had the electronic radio biola which it sold and said could cure most any medical problem, but of course, that was science fiction.. star trek had floppy disks, computers you could talk to and flat screen monitors all of which were about 50 years ahead-of-their time.. wts had vaccines which were called "filthy animal pus", humans hearts which were the seat of all emotions, organ transplants which were cannibalistic, human personalities which were also transferred with blood transfusions and black people turning white by reading their literature, all of which were 100 years behihd-their-time.. if you missed a few star trek episodes in a row, no one came by to harrass you.. if you miss a few meetings in a row, you are in deep shit.. star trek tv shows and movies are still played all the time, even after 47 years.. wts dramas never even play a second time.

If Klingon's are hunting you down, they usually have a good reason and it's all about HONOR
Elder's don't need any reason to hunt you down and it has nothing to do with HONOR

Elder's decisions with congregation funds £££
by 88JM inhave you ever been in a congregation (or circuit) where elders have made very bad choices on spending congegation funds?.
(summary if you don't want to read it all: elders planning to squander money on an expensive hall refurbishment while kh flat is falling apart).
i know there were assembly halls like dudley who spent a lot of money on their kitchens just before the food arrangements were done away with.

Interesting. Keep us posted as to the outcome.
There was an interesting mis-use of Cong. funds in our KH. The P.O gets up on the platform and tells us what a great deal our cong. can get on a riding lawn tractor. Then proceeds to ask for a motion & show of hands. Then goes "oh good, I'm glad you all agree because 'I' already bought it."
WHAT????
isn't that misuse of funds since the $$$ belongs to the cong? Then lying about it by making us vote for it when it was already a done deal?
I'm sure there are some more great stories out there about this subject.

THIS NEEDS ITS OWN THREAD:: TODAY's WT Paragraph 16
by Lied2NoMore inhere is what got my spidey senses tingling: paragraph 16, reference to daniel p mannix book, was wondering if his statement was mis-quoted so i did my research.......but was even more shocked when i saw this: .
from amazon dot com reviews................ probably the most provocative work of historical fiction published this century,"those who are about to die" is pure mannix at his best.
a uncensured exploration of what likely took place in the circuses of ancient rome.

Lied2no more & Annomaly are correct, the WT Lib is full of Daniel P. Mannix quotes. Even in the 'School Brochure' under flag saluting. Here is one of the more interesting quotes from the 1975 Awake 12/8 pg 3-4:
That is the way Christians in the early centuries felt. You can read in history books of the efforts made by Roman officials to get early Christians to make sacrifices to the “genius” of the emperor, even by such a small act as putting a pinch of incense on the altar as a sacrifice. Of Christians brought into Roman arenas to die, one history says: “Very few of the Christians recanted, although an altar with a fire burning on it was generally kept in the arena for their convenience. All a prisoner had to do was scatter a pinch of incense on the flame and he was given a Certificate of Sacrifice and turned free. . . . Still, almost no Christians availed themselves of the chance to escape.”—ThoseAbouttoDie, Daniel P. Mannix, pp. 135, 137.

Hi MoS, WELCOME, glad you're here. We just recently lost most of our friends & family also. Nothing official, just my Mom-in-law got offended at my husband saying Jehovah was not God's name, then proceeded to personally call everyone and tell them we went 'apostate' My daughter Gojira just posted part of the story....the link is below if you wish to read it. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/246388/1/The-time-is-near-for-my-families-crucification Peace on your journey and we're here for you.

Thank you all for making us feel welcome.
We had a very dear friend [third generation JW] come visit us for a weekend last year. I forget what we were talking about but our friend made the comment that "I do believe Christ died on a cross". It was kind of shocking to us, but we've known him long enough NOT to react like the typical JW and throw him out of our house. So we heard him out. He also showed us the cherry-picking WT had done with the Reasoning book under the sub-heading 'Cross' and how the Imperial Bible Dictionary they quote from, was cherry picked it to make it sound like the book was pro-stake, when it actually is pro-cross.
Hallejah! [Yes, I'm trying to be funny] We felt that if they lied about that, what else have they lied about? So we just started asking him a million questions and poured over our bibles.
That was all it took for Hubby & I both. 1 weekend and together. So I am so thankful that we both could see it together because I see so many on here that are losing mates & children.
The next weekend we went to see our daughter & her hubby, took them out to lunch and just started telling them some of the more pronounced things we had learned. My son-in-law looked like he was going to lose his lunch.
But they could see it right away and confessed that they both had, had doubts about JW teachings their entire lives.
Hallejah! Our kids came out with us. They were the most important ones we wanted to reach. The G'ma's we've tried but the choice is theirs.

Not the most gripping plot in Caleb's latest adventure...
by cedars inhttp://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/children/become-jehovahs-friend/videos/stealing-is-bad/.
caleb sees some brightly-colored lollies.. caleb's mom tells him they're not buying candy today.. caleb puts down the lollies, sulking.. caleb thinks about stealing just one lolly, but remembers his dad's words at family study, that if he steals he won't be jehovah's friend.. caleb puts back the lolly smiling, and runs along.. .
hardly a gripping plot.

Thought this was too funny! It was e-mailed to me from a friend who hasn't quite signed up yet, but doesn't mind me posting his anonymous comments: "Caleb wants something that doesn’t belong to him. What helps him make the right decision?" I would ask this: "WT wants something that doesn't belong to it- your time, your life, your family inheritance, your worship. What will help WT make the right decision?" Oh, yes, I remember- actually following the Bible.
